On March 17, 2026, representatives of the Grandview Instituton (GVI) held a dinner meeting with former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and Zhanna Leshchynska, current Director of the Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The participants exchanged views on promoting China–Europe relations, as well as cooperation between China and Europe on regional hotspot issues, including joint efforts in crisis mediation.

Klimkin is regarded as one of the key architects of Ukraine’s pro-European orientation, having played an important role in issues related to European integration, policy toward Russia, and security affairs. Following the Crimea crisis in 2014, he led Ukraine’s diplomatic engagement with Europe and coordinated sanctions policies.

Leshchynska is primarily responsible for diplomatic coordination in the Asia-Pacific region, including advancing China–Ukraine cooperation in trade, finance, and cultural exchanges.
