On the afternoon of February 3, Peruvian Ambassador to China Carlos R. Vásquez Corrales, accompanied by Counselor Jorge García, visited the Grandview Institution(GVI). They held discussions with Ren Libo, Founder and President of the GVI; Zhou Rong, Director of the Global South Countries Studies Center at GVI; and Cai Jing, Director of the Department of External Cooperation at GVI, on topics including China–Peru bilateral relations, economic and trade cooperation, and Asia-Pacific regional development.

The Ambassador reviewed the history of migration and economic exchanges between China and Peru since the mid-19th century, emphasizing the significant contributions of the Chinese community to Peruvian society. He particularly noted that the Chancay Port project, built with the participation of Chinese enterprises, has greatly improved Peru’s logistics efficiency and has become a key hub along the Pacific coast of South America. The Ambassador also shared Peru’s experience in building consensus during its hosting of the APEC meetings and expressed his hope to further promote cooperation between the two sides in areas such as think tank exchanges and university collaboration.
