Former Ukrainian First Deputy Foreign Minister Oleksandr Chalyi Visits GVI

On September 14, 2024, Oleksandr Chalyi, former First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine and foreign policy advisor to the President of Ukraine, visited Grandview Institution. He engaged in in-depth discussions with representatives of GVI on Ukraine's domestic political situation, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and the potential role of China and the international community in mediating the conflict. Chalyi expressed Ukraine's welcome for China's participation in the political resolution of a Russia-Ukraine ceasefire and emphasized the unique role China could play.

Participants in the discussion included Ren Libo, President of Grandview Institution; Zhu Junwei, Director of the U.S. Studies Center; Mao Jing, Director of the International Cooperation Department; Yang Xiaotong, Research Lead of the International Cooperation Department; and Kyrylo Zaitsev, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in China.
