On April 15th ~16th, a GVI delegation held a dialogue with representatives from the Finnish Crisis Management Initiative (CMI) – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation on conflict mediation and the Korean Peninsula issue.
The regional directors of CMI briefed the Chinese visitors about their work in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa in promoting dialogue and negotiation among conflict parties. They expressed their hope to strengthen cooperation with GVI and to hold more seminars about international conflicts in the future.
Participants in the dialogue included Jann Taalas, CEO of CMI; Eero Suominen, Senior Advisor of CMI and former Finnish Ambassador to North Korea; Harri Ohra-aho, Senior Advisor of CMI and Rear Admiral (retired); Ren Libo, President of GVI; Li Xinyu, Deputy Secretary General; Wu Hao, Senior Researcher; Mao Jing, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of GVI, and Lv Xiaoyu, Assistant Professor of the School of International Relations, Peking University, among others.
