On April 15, a delegation from GVI visited the Center for Peace Mediation (CPM) of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and had a sincere exchange with Anna Huovila, Deputy Director of CPM, Jan Wahlberg, Ambassador for Peace Mediation, and other attendants, on the issue of peace mediation.
According to Ms. Huovila, conflict mediation and prevention has been a long-standing priority of Finland's foreign policy. Over the past decade, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland has unremittingly strengthened the country's mediation position at the international level. CPM’s long-term mission is to strengthen the multilateral system, the rules-based international order, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts, and at the same time, to promote sustainable peace and inclusive mediation, for instance leveraging the active role of women, youth and religious figures in mediation processes.
The delegation from GVI included Ren Libo, President, Li Xinyu, Vice President, Wu Hao, Senior Research Fellow, Mao Jing, Director of the International Cooperation Department, and Lv Xiaoyu, Assistant Professor of the School of International Relations, Peking University.
