On April 16th, GVI and FIIA held a seminar on "Global and Regional Conflicts - Security Concerns in Asia and Europe".
Mikael Mattlin, Acting Deputy Director of the FIIA and head of FIIA’s Center on Global Orders and China (CORD), mentioned that the global political and security challenges have a great impact on Asia and Europe, and exacerbate the crisis of trust between regions and the countries in today's world, which is characterized by ongoing crises and challenges, as well as accumulating factors of instability and insecurity.
The GVI participants elucidated how China has become increasingly active in the prevention, management, and mediation of violent conflicts in its neighborhoods and other regions. They pointed out that conflict resolution requires an understanding of the security concerns of all parties involved. It is also necessary to increase mutual trust and reduce miscalculations through enhanced communication, and put forward targeted solutions and countermeasures, as well.
