On March 20, Tomoki Izumikawa, Director of the Business Department of Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade (JAPIT), and Rao Fang, Deputy Director of JAPIT’s Beijing Representative Office, and their delegation, visited GVI and exchanged views with He An, Secretary General of GVI, and Han Hongyu, Deputy Director of External Cooperation Department, on the cooperation between GVI and JAPIT.
Mr. Izumikawa said that JAPIT was founded in 1954, and this year is the 70th anniversary of its founding. The Association is committed to contributing to peace and stability in China, Asia, and the world by promoting economic cooperation, trade, and investment. Over the past 70 years, JAPIT has carried out exchanges with China covering multiple fields by participating in the signing of private trade agreements, dispatching economic and trade missions, and organizing industrial exhibitions and technology exchanges. This year, JAPIT will send a delegation of its member companies and business associations to China, during which it will have a dialogue with GVI on the economic and trade exchanges between China and Japan.
Mr. He An said that GVI is also committed to promoting China-Japan exchanges and dialogues between civil societies. A GVI delegation paid a visit to several Japanese National Diet members from various parties, research institutes, and consortiums earlier this year, and both sides expressed their willingness to get over the current difficulties in the bilateral relations and to promote the Sino-Japanese "strategic and reciprocal relationship". During JAPIT's visit to China this year, GVI will work together with it to promote Sino-Japanese economic, trade, and civil exchanges.
