On the morning of October 17, 2023, Pakistani Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar met with Ren Libo, Founder and President of GVI, at Kempinski Hotel in Beijing.

Mr. Ren Libo told Mr. Kakar that since its establishment 10 years ago, GVI has done extensive research on China-Pakistan relations and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and it is committed to promoting think tank exchanges. He also put forward policy recommendations concerning the development of the CPEC from three perspectives: strategic significance, space for economic development, and international third-party cooperation. In addition, Ren briefed PM Kakar on GVI’s Islamabad Center which was set up this July, its strategic cooperation agreement inked with the National Defense University of Pakistan this August, and its plan to co-host another "China-Pakistan Youth Conference" along with Pakistan’s University of Lahore.

PM Kakar appreciated GVI’s recommendations for the construction of the CPEC and its efforts for the consolidation of China-Pakistan relations. He elaborated on the shared goals and visions for the future of the two countries. He encouraged GVI to take the establishment of its Islamabad Center as an opportunity to deepen the cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese think tanks and expand Pakistan-China youth exchanges on a wider scale, so as to make more contributions to the perpetuation of Pakistan-China friendship.

Pakistani Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar arrived in Beijing on the evening of October 16 to attend the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi, Special Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Moin ul Haque, Pakistan's Ambassador to China, and Ghulam Mustafa, Pakistan's Defence and Army Attaché to China, accompanied the meeting.
