A Delegation Led by KIM Heungkyu, President of the Plaza Project, Visits GVI

On January 28, a delegation led by KIM Heungkyu, President of the Plaza Project think tank of the Republic of Korea, including CHEUNG Jaeheung Director of China Center at Sejong Institutes; LEE Moongi. Professor of Sejong University; and Chi Yuan, Board Member of Revo media Co., Ltd. (Beijing), visited Grandview Institution(GVI). The delegation held talks with Ren Libo, President of GVI, and Cai Jing, Director of the Department of External Cooperation at GVI, among others.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on China–ROK relations, regional security, and future areas of cooperation. Both agreed that, under the current international circumstances, strengthening regularized exchanges between think tanks is of great importance. They noted that 2026 will be a critical year for the development of China–ROK relations, and emphasized the need to seize opportunities while properly managing differences. 

The Korean side expressed concern over issues related to the Korean Peninsula, while the Chinese side reaffirmed its commitment to the denuclearization of the Peninsula, stressing that issues should be addressed through dialogue and consultation, alongside enhanced crisis management. Both sides agreed to maintain close communication and to explore substantive cooperation, including joint research initiatives.
