December 2, 2025, Sun Jin, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed), led a delegation on a visit to the Grandview Institution(GVI). During the meeting, they held discussions with Ren Libo, President of GVI, and Mao Jing, Director of the European Studies Center, on matters related to international crisis mediation.
Ding Huizi from the Secretariat of the IOMed also attended the meeting.
On October 20, 2025, the inauguration ceremony of the IOMed was held in Hong Kong. The GVI was invited to attend the ceremony, joining nearly 200 representatives from over 30 contracting states of the IOMed Convention and various sectors of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to celebrate this milestone.
As the world’s first intergovernmental organization dedicated exclusively to mediation, the IOMed handles cases including "disputes between states," "disputes between a state and a national of another state," and "international commercial disputes between private entities." The IOMed will complement existing international litigation and arbitration mechanisms, addressing gaps in current international dispute resolution systems. Its establishment marks a significant step forward in advancing mediation as a means of resolving international disputes.
