Grandview Institution Visits Hong Kong Headquarters of the International Mediation Institute

On the afternoon of September 22, 2025, Ren Libo, President of the Grandview Institution, and Mao Jing, Director of the Center for European Studies, visited the International Mediation Institute (IMI) in Hong Kong. Sun Jin, Director of the IMI Preparatory Office, introduced the Institutes founding background and main functions, and exchanged views with Grandview representatives on enhancing future communication and cooperation.

The International Mediation Institute was jointly initiated by China and 18 other countries, and will become the worlds first intergovernmental international legal organization dedicated to resolving international disputes through mediation. On May 30, 2025, the Convention on the Establishment of the International Mediation Institute was signed in Hong Kong, and currently 37 countries have signed the agreement. The Institute adheres to the principles of dialogue, cooperation, and voluntary participation, assisting in the resolution of disputes between states, between states and enterprises, and between enterprises. The establishment of the IMI embodies the wisdom of harmonious coexistence rooted in Eastern civilization. China intends to actively contribute to its development and promote it as a truly influential international entity.
