The delegation from Grandview Institution visited relevant think tanks and other institutions in London

2025.04.09

On April 8-9, Grandview Institution visited Inter Mediate, Global Stability Network, International Crisis Group, and Great Britain China House to discuss the establishment and improvement of multiple cooperation mechanisms between institutions, as well as in-depth exchanges on the development of China-US relations, China-UK relations, UK-US relations, and global hot topics.

Ren Libo, President of Grandview Institution, Zhang Tuosheng, Chief Researcher and Director of Northeast Asia Research Center, Mao Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department and Director of European Research Center, discussed in detail the agenda of the “second China-US Strategic Stability Dialogue” to be held at the end of April with Claire, President of Inter Mediate, and Julien, Project Manager of Inter Mediate. Both Grandview Institution and Inter Mediate believe that maintaining the construction of the Track 2 and Track 1.5 exchange mechanisms between China and the United States is of special significance in the current turbulent situation of China-US relations. At the same time, the delegation from Grandview Institution also discussed the issues of Russia-Ukraine, the Middle East, China-India, and Myanmar with Mockbul Ali Obe, a senior advisor to Intermediate and former British envoy to Libya, as well as other researchers.

Mereth Macleod, Executive President of Great Britain China House, and Cyril Poulopoulos, Vice Presidentof Great Britain China House, hope to hold a series of dialogues on bilateral security and stability issues between China and the UK with Grandview Institution on Track 2 and Track 1.5, without avoiding differences and conflicts, but focusing more on finding common interests and taking joint actions to deepen the UK's understanding and comprehension of China.

Paul Ingram, President of Global Stability Network (GSN) and former Executive Director of the UK-US Security Information Council, and Sahil Shah, co-founder of GSN, believe that in a world of frequent conflicts and increasing emphasis on traditional military security, economic and trade relations between countries are crucial for global security and stability. Trump's tariff stick has created more space for deepening economic cooperation between China and Europe, requiring both governments to seize opportunities with different wisdoms.
