On December 3rd, Vebjørn Dysvik, the Ambassador of Norway to China, and his delegation visited Grandview Institution (GVI). They had an in-depth exchange and discussion with Ren Libo, the President of GVI, and Wu Hao, a senior researcher, on issues such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and peace mediation.

Ambassador Vebjørn Dysvik introduced the work of the Norwegian government in international conflict mediation. In particular, the Norwegian government facilitated the signing of the Oslo Accords between the Palestine Liberation Organization and Israel, and participated in mediating the reconciliation between the Colombian government army and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, thus ending Colombia's civil war that had lasted for more than 50 years. Ambassador Vebjørn Dysvik mentioned that China's role in international dispute resolution is becoming increasingly prominent, and he hopes to see China play a greater role by leveraging its influence.

Also participating in the discussion were Lisa Marie Hillestad and Gaute H. Grov, officers from the Political Section of the Norwegian Embassy in China, as well as Mao Jing, Director of the International Cooperation Department of GVI, Yang Xiaotong, Research Director of the International Cooperation Department, and Li Zhuofan, project assistant.
