Mr. Ma Dazheng introduced in detail the "Ma Dazheng’s Collection of Borderland Works (five-volume set)", "Dazheng’s Journey to the Borderland Series", "My Academic Memories: Sixty Years with Books", "Eight Topics of China's Borderland Studies", "Oral History of Borderland Studies: Making the Borderland No Longer Distant", which were collated and published or to be published during the three-year Covid-19 pandemic period, and presented to the experts at the meeting a monograph not publicly available on the situation of Xinjiang-- "Making History a Warning for the Future". Although 85 years old, Mr. Ma Dazheng has been running around for the overall configuration of China's borderland studies. During the 3-year epidemic, he kept visiting various parts of China’s borderland, lecturing to teachers and students of the Central Party School and relevant universities, and participating in many decision-making research projects.

Mr. Ma Dazheng reviewed and discussed with the experts the gains and losses of Xinjiang's governance in the past five years, the situation of counter-terrorism in Xinjiang and its neighboring countries, and the issues of ethnicity and religion in Xinjiang. The experts present agreed that although the overall security and economic situation in Xinjiang is obviously improving, the undercurrents never stop surging, so it is still necessary to keep the alarm bells ringing and to make painstaking efforts over a long period of time. They highlighted that the experience of dealing with the major riots and the lessons from the past should be summarized and made into a warning for the future.
