ZHANG Tuosheng

Zhang Tuosheng (b. 1949), Master of Law, Central Party School; since 1979 he has served as an instructor at the Military Academy of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), a researcher at the Institute for Strategic Studies of the National Defense University (NDU), Deputy Military Attaché at the Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom, Director of the Research Department of the China International Strategic Research Foundation, Director of the Centre for Foreign Policy Studies, Director of the Academic Council, Director of the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association (CACDA) and the Institute for International Strategic Studies of Peking University. He is also an academic member of the Center for Strategic and Security Studies at Tsinghua University.


His main research areas are China-U.S. relations, China-Japan relations, Asia-Pacific security, military security crisis management, and China's foreign policy. For a long time, he has participated in many international cooperative research projects, organized and participated in writing many policy research reports, and edited many influential research works, and published hundreds of academic papers and articles, such as Comparative Studies on Nuclear Strategy and Case Studies on Crisis Management in China and the United States.
