On October 15, 2026, Arianna Gazze, Senior Program Manager at Inter Mediate (IM), a UK crisis mediation organization, and Kent Härstedt, former Swedish Special Envoy to North Korea, visited Grandview Institution (GVI) and exchanged views with Ren Libo, President of GVI, and Zhou Rong, Director of the Global South Studies Center, on the Myanmar issue and the North Korean nuclear issue.

The guests noted that the current situation in Myanmar continues to affect regional peace and stability and is a focal issue of common concern to ASEAN countries. As an important regional force, China has consistently played a constructive role in promoting the political settlement of the Myanmar issue. Against this backdrop, in-depth dialogue and exchanges with Chinese scholars on the Myanmar issue can help pool wisdom from various parties and provide useful impetus for steering the situation in Myanmar toward peace and stability. The two sides also discussed work plans for continuing to organize dialogues on relevant international hotspot issues in the future.
