On April 28, 2026, Mr. Bumtsend Gombo, Minister-Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Mongolia in China, visited Grandview Institution with Ms. Tuyatsetseg Nyamsuren, Senior Counsellor for Political Affairs, and Mr. Mandakh Tsogtsaikhan, Counsellor for Political Affairs. Participating in the exchange on behalf of Grandview Institution were Ren Libo, President of Grandview Institution; Cai Jing, Director of the Department of External Cooperation; and Zhang Tingyu, Project Assistant.

Ren Libo introduced Grandview Institution’s research in such areas as regional security and emphasized the unique role of non-governmental think tanks in promoting policy communication.

The Mongolian side gave a detailed introduction to the “Ulaanbaatar Dialogue” mechanism, which is aimed at promoting regional security dialogue.

Both sides agreed that it is important for Chinese and Mongolian think tanks to maintain regular exchanges. To this end, the two sides explored the feasibility of establishing a Track II dialogue mechanism under the title of the “China-Mongolia Policy Seminar,” and agreed to carry out cooperation through such forms as joint research and closed-door dialogue on regional security and other issues of common concern.
