2026.03.27

On March 26, Grandview Institution and the Centre for Contemporary Chinese Studies (CCCS) at the University of Melbourne jointly held an academic dialogue, bringing together scholars from universities and research institutions to exchange views on China-related issues in the context of the current international and regional landscape.

The dialogue was conducted in a hybrid format, both online and offline. Participants discussed developments in the Middle East and their implications for regional security, energy cooperation, economic ties, and international relations, drawing on perspectives from international relations, area studies, and global governance. The dialogue underscored the importance of promoting multi-perspective and interdisciplinary exchange and understanding on the basis of academic research.

The event was moderated by Dr Sow Keat Tok of the Asia Institute, University of Melbourne. Participants included Professor Nick Bisley, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Professor of International Relations at La Trobe University; Professor Baogang He,  Professor Alfred Deakin at Deakin University; and Shen Dingli, Director of the Center for American Studies at Grandview Institution, among other scholars.

The event provided a platform for exchange between Chinese and Australian academic and research institutions, and offered useful input for continued scholarly discussion on related issues.
