May 23rd~to 24th, 2024, Ren Libo, GVI’s President, and Ouyang Wei, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of GVI paid a visit to the Asia-Pacific Research Group of the UK Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Inter Mediate (the UK's International Crisis Mediation Agency), and the UK's International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London. Mr. Ren and Mr. Ouyang had intensive exchanges with the senior officials and researchers from the above organizations, as well as from the UK's Royal United Services Institute for Defence Studies (RUSI), the UK's Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), the University of Cambridge, and Track2 ASIA on issues such as Sino-British relations, Sino-European relations, Russia-Ukraine conflict, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and international crisis mediation.

Delegates from GVI exchange views with Glyn Ford, an expert on North Korea.

They all agreed that the world order is undergoing profound changes and larger and deeper crises are brewing before erupting. Independent think tanks should strengthen research on systematic risk and countermeasures and play a part in easing regional conflicts, maintaining world peace, and optimizing the international order.
