Mr. Moon said, as South Korea’s neighbor, China is vital to the prosperity and stability of his country. The U.S. should not resort to the same old tactics and allow the Cold War mentality to rekindle. Meanwhile, the ROK should not blindly follow the United States, much less choose sides between China and the United States; otherwise, it will only harm South Korea's self-interest.

Moon stressed that with a long history of cultural exchanges, China and South Korea have a lot in common. In the future, Beijing and Seoul should strengthen their people-to-people and cultural exchanges and foster mutual understanding between the two nations in the hope of a rapid growth of business and trade.
