The delegation from the GVI paid a visit to the former Japanese Prime Minister - Yasuo Fukada and the formerJapanese Ambassador to China - Miyamoto Kumaji. The purpose of the visit was to confirm strategic cooperation between the Japanese Organisation of Cultural Exchange Between Asian Community created by the duo and the GVI. Furthermore,thevisit was also to organise further SinoJapanese cultural exchange and dialogues, as well as to reach a consensus regarding encouraging the development of Sino-Japanese relations.
The delegation from the GVI visited the former Chief of Staff of the Japanese Self Defence Force Katsutoshi Kono, and proceeded to exchange views on the evolution of Japanese national defence policies, as well as the security issues of both China and Japan respectively.
The delegation visited the Japanese National Institute for Defence Studies, whereby they exchanged views with the Director of the China Research Office of the Regional Research Department Masahi Lida, the Director of the Asian African Research Office Masayuki Masuda, and the Chief Researcher Masaaki Yatsuka.
