ZHANG Yunling

ZHANG Yunling, born in 1945, is the Member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Department Director of International Studies. He serves as a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of the Korea Institute at Shandong University. Having been a member of the 10th, 11th and 12th CPPCC National Committee, he has also served as a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee. His main research focuses on China’s foreign policy, especially in Asia. His publications include The Rising China, and World Order, etc.

From the year 1985 to 1986, he was a senior visiting scholar of International Relations at Harvard University and Johns Hopkins University. Moreover, he was a senior visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States in 1997, guest professor at Chuo University in Japan in 2000, and the Distinguished Professor at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore in 2009. Later, he served as an adjunct professor at Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, Aarhus University in Denmark and Asia Pacific University in Japan successively.
